Who is a candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Candidates for the procedure should be in good overall health and maintain a relatively fit physique. Those who are extremely thin or significantly obese may not be ideal for this treatment. Thin patients must have sufficient fat available for harvesting and transfer to achieve noticeable results, while obese patients may face limitations in the technique that prevent a significant improvement, despite an excess of fat. Dr. Ahmad will carefully evaluate your individual case to determine if you are a suitable candidate.
The Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure
The procedure begins with liposuction of the designated harvest areas, where fat is carefully removed and collected under sterile conditions. Once extracted, the fat is processed—washed and filtered—and then transferred into smaller syringes. Using a specialized blunt-tipped fat transfer cannula, the purified fat is meticulously re-injected into the target areas.
This process follows the principles of micro-fat grafting, with small amounts of fat placed in multiple layers and planes to maximize the survival of fat cells. The fat is injected only into the subcutaneous layer, where natural buttock fat resides beneath the skin, and never into the muscle, as injecting into the muscle can lead to serious complications.
On average, each side of the buttocks requires 200-600 cc of fat for augmentation, although the exact amount depends on the patient’s body size and desired outcome. It's important to understand that there is an optimal volume of fat that can be safely transferred during a single procedure. Exceeding this amount can negatively impact the results, so achieving a natural, balanced enhancement is prioritized over simply adding more fat.

Recovery from Butt Augmentation at Home
At home, it's important to take it easy and avoid sitting directly on the treated areas, as this can lead to the resorption (melting away) of the transferred fat. Most patients can sit while leaning slightly forward without damaging the grafted areas. When sleeping, try to rest on your sides or stomach, and avoid sitting on hard surfaces like wooden benches or other firm seats. Following the procedure, your buttocks will be swollen, bruised, and firm. Over the next six weeks, the swelling will gradually subside.
Post-op Visits after Butt Augmentation
You will see Dr. Ahmad at one week, 6 weeks, and 6 months after surgery for follow-up after your Brazilian Butt Lift. Photographs are taken at these visits to document your progress. They are not used for any other purpose without your written consent.
