Rhinoplasty in Dubai
Commonly known as a "nose job," rhinoplasty is not just a favorite among Hollywood celebrities but a well-established procedure for anyone looking to enhance the appearance or functionality of their nose. As one of the oldest facial plastic surgeries, its origins can be traced back to Indian medical texts from as early as 500 B.C. Despite its long history, rhinoplasty remains one of the most technically challenging procedures to master.
Dr. Ahmad is a highly skilled rhinoplasty surgeon with extensive experience in primary rhinoplasty (first-time procedures), secondary rhinoplasty (revision surgeries), and addressing complications from previous surgeries. He works closely with patients to explore their options and create a tailored treatment plan that aligns with their unique concerns and goals.

Rhinoplasty Benefits
Rhinoplasty is a procedure that can improve both the appearance and the function of the nose. The procedure primarily involves reshaping the cartilage and bone to achieve these goals.
Rhinoplasty may be performed to remedy a wide range of perceived cosmetic imperfections to the nose, such as:
-
The nose looks too large: the overall nasal dimensions can be made to look smaller
-
A hump exists on the nasal bridge: the bridge is made straight
-
The nasal tip is too large, rounded, or undefined: the tip is made thinner, sleeker, and more defined
-
The nose is wide: the nasal bones are thinned, nostrils made less wide
-
The nose sticks out too much: the nose is deprojected for better facial proportions
-
The nasal tip points downward: the tip is elevated and slightly upturned
-
The nose is crooked (naturally or from an accident): the nose is straightened
The main benefit of functional Rhinoplasty is improved air flow, which may be caused by:
-
Deviated septum (remedied via septoplasty)
-
Trauma, injury, or birth defect
-
Narrow or collapsed nasal valves
-

Open vs. Closed Rhinoplasty
There are two methods of performing Rhinoplasty: Open and closed. These terms refer to the way in which the underlying cartilage, bone, and soft tissue are exposed to allow for the procedure to be conducted.
In open Rhinoplasty, the framework of the nose is fully exposed.
Advantage
Optimal amount of surgical control when compared to closed technique
Disadvantage
There may be more swelling that takes longer to resolve after surgery
Open Rhinoplasty is Preferred with
Cases of revision(redo) Rhinoplasty, significant asymmetry, unusual anatomy, or when there is a need for very precise modifications.
The closed technique is the more traditional method of Rhinoplasty that has been popular for decades. It involves making fewer incisions in the nose, and performing the alterations to the framework without seeing the structures directly.
Advantage
Less swelling and less incisions
Disadvantage
It is less precise, and the range of options to manipulate the framework is not as great
The closed method is preferred with
Straightforward primary(first time) Rhinoplasty that does not need significant tip alteration.

Details of the Rhinoplasty Procedure
Dr. Ahmad performs rhinoplasty using one of two types of anesthesia: general anesthesia or IV sedation (also known as twilight anesthesia). With general anesthesia, patients are completely asleep and unaware throughout the procedure. Under twilight anesthesia, patients may experience brief moments of awareness but remain relaxed and feel minimal, if any, discomfort. The surgery is carried out at a private surgical center conveniently located near Dr. Ahmad’s plastic surgery office in Dubai.
For an open rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Ahmad begins by making small, precise incisions on the nose to access the underlying cartilage and bone. From there, specific surgical adjustments are made based on the patient’s unique needs.
These may include:
-
Hump Removal: Cartilage and bone are carefully shaved to smooth out the nasal profile.
-
Tip Refinement: The tip's shape and definition are enhanced by removing, suturing, or adding cartilage.
-
Projection Adjustments: The nose's projection is increased or decreased to achieve balance.
-
Width Reduction: The nasal bones are repositioned for a slimmer, more refined appearance.
-
Septum Straightening: The septum is corrected through techniques like removal, scoring, or reinforcing cartilage to improve structure and breathing.
Once the desired results are achieved, Dr. Ahmad meticulously closes the incisions and applies a protective nasal splint to support healing. The patient is then gently awakened from anesthesia and provided with aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.

Recovery after Rhinoplasty
Recovery From Rhinoplasty Immediately After Surgery
Immediately after your rhinoplasty, you will be closely monitored by our nursing staff in the post-anesthesia recovery area. Once the effects of anesthesia have worn off, you will be discharged with a family member or friend to escort you home.
Recovery From Rhinoplasty at Home
At home, it’s important to rest and protect your nose from any accidental injury. Non-strenuous activities, such as watching TV or reading, are fine. Expect your nose to feel stuffy, with most patients needing to breathe through their mouth during the first week. Pain is typically mild to moderate and can be managed with prescribed medication. Swelling in the face and around the nose is normal, as are bruises around the eyes, which usually resolve within 1–2 weeks. Most patients can return to non-strenuous work within 7–10 days.
You may experience moderate bruising and swelling in the treated area, as well as moderate to severe discomfort lasting 7-10 days. Dr. Ahmad will provide a prescription for pain medication, which should be taken as needed. To ensure a smooth recovery, all prescriptions will be provided before surgery, and we encourage patients to have them filled in advance.
Follow-Up Visits After a Rhinoplasty
Dr. Ahmad will see you one week after surgery to assess your progress, remove stitches, and adjust your dressing. Light exercise, such as walking, is typically permitted two weeks after surgery, but strenuous activities and contact sports (e.g., basketball, hockey) should be avoided for 4–6 weeks to protect your healing nose. Follow-up visits with Dr. Ahmad are scheduled at 6 weeks, 6 months, and one year post-surgery to monitor your recovery and take postoperative photos.
Swelling is a normal part of recovery, and your nose may appear larger initially. Most of the swelling resolves within 6–8 weeks, but full healing, especially at the nasal tip, can take 12 months or more. Over time, you’ll notice the nose becoming slimmer and more refined, with the final results gradually emerging.
As with any surgical procedure, there are risks associated with rhinoplasty. While the risk profile is generally low, Dr. Ahmad will thoroughly discuss potential complications during your consultation to ensure you are fully informed and confident moving forward.

Asian and Ethnic Rhinoplasty
When Rhinoplasty is performed on a patient who is non-Caucasian, it is termed an ethnic Rhinoplasty. (Note that the term ‘ Caucasian,’ as it is applied to this discussion, refers to patients of European ancestry). Ethnic Rhinoplasty differs from non - ethnic (i.e. Caucasian) Rhinoplasty, as it requires consideration of two important aspects: cultural factors and anatomic factors.
Cultural Factors
Cultural concepts of beauty vary significantly and must be carefully considered when performing ethnic rhinoplasty. For instance, in Asian rhinoplasty, patients often request a higher nasal bridge, but the desired height is generally lower than that of a typical Caucasian nose. This highlights the importance of preserving the patient’s ethnic identity while addressing their aesthetic goals. Equally critical, however, is understanding whether an individual wishes to embrace or deviate from these cultural norms. Open and clear communication with each patient is essential to achieving successful outcomes in ethnic rhinoplasty. Additionally, the surgeon must have a deep understanding of cultural beauty standards across various ethnicities to tailor their approach appropriately.
Anatomic Factors in Ethnic Rhinoplasty
Ethnic rhinoplasty differs from Caucasian rhinoplasty due to distinct anatomical characteristics. For example:
African American Rhinoplasty
Patients often present with thicker skin, a wider alar base, and less cartilage support.
Asian Rhinoplasty
Common features include a low nasal bridge, minimal tip projection, a rounded or bulbous tip, and wide, flared nostrils.
Nasal Bone Structure
The nasal bones in ethnic patients are often different in shape and size compared to those in Caucasian patients, influencing surgical techniques.
These anatomical distinctions require surgeons to adapt their approach to suit each patient’s unique facial structure. Ethnic rhinoplasty demands expertise and a nuanced understanding of these variations to ensure that corrections align with the patient’s goals while respecting their natural features. This individualized approach is essential to delivering results that are both harmonious and culturally sensitive.
Revision Rhinoplasty
Sometimes, individuals who have undergone a rhinoplasty are disappointed with the results, finding that their initial procedure did not meet their cosmetic or functional expectations. If your primary rhinoplasty failed to address your concerns, Dr. Ahmad specializes in revision rhinoplasty to refine and enhance the outcome of your previous surgery. This highly complex procedure requires working with the bones, cartilage, and nasal structures that have already been altered, demanding the expertise of a skilled revision rhinoplasty surgeon to achieve optimal results.
During your consultation, Dr. Ahmad will carefully evaluate the appearance and anatomy of your nose to determine how the results can be improved while aligning with your goals. He will take the time to understand your concerns and objectives, ensuring clear communication and a shared vision for the desired outcome.
Timing for Revision Rhinoplasty
Dr. Ahmad generally advises waiting at least 10 to 12 months after your initial rhinoplasty before considering revision surgery. This is because the nose continues to change during the first year—and sometimes even longer—due to gradual reduction of swelling (edema) and the softening of internal scar tissue.
Delaying revision surgery has several key benefits:
Natural Healing May Resolve Issues
As swelling subsides and scar tissue softens, the appearance of the nose can improve on its own, particularly in the nasal tip, where changes take the longest to settle.
Accurate Evaluation
Assessing the nose before 10 months may not provide a true picture of the final results, as unresolved swelling and scar tissue can obscure the anatomy. An accurate evaluation is essential for developing an effective surgical plan.
Reduced Surgical Complexity
Performing revision surgery too early is more challenging due to firm scar tissue, which makes it difficult to differentiate and separate tissue planes. This increases the risk of suboptimal outcomes or even new complications.
Improved Success Rate
The longer you wait before pursuing revision rhinoplasty, the greater the chance of achieving a successful and lasting result.
If you're considering revision rhinoplasty, Dr. Ahmad at Eden Aesthetics Clinic is here to help you achieve the outcome you originally envisioned. Contact us to schedule a consultation and take the first step toward improving your results and restoring confidence in your appearance.

-
How Long Does the Nose Correction / Reshaping Last? For the majority of the Hyaluronic Acid to degrade, more than 12 months will be required. Nonetheless, around one-third of the injection will remain permanent.
-
How Much Does a Nose Job With Filler in Dubai Cost? The costs for a nasal injection containing up to 1 ml of Hyaluronic gel are determined based on the amount of effort and materials required. The price of this injection is AED 2000, excluding value-added tax. The doctor's schedule of fees will be used to determine the price based on the individual effort and materials used. Currently, there is a special offer available for AED 2,100, which is only valid for a few more days.
-
A Nose Correction Without Surgery - What Can I Expect?By undergoing a simple procedure known as Hyaluronic acid implantation, an experienced doctor can help you achieve a more proportionate and aesthetically pleasing nose by remodeling its tip or knob area. Observers often tend to notice any facial irregularities, and a nose that has been reshaped through this method will appear more regular and better integrated with the rest of your features, thereby giving the illusion of a smaller nose.
-
Which Hyaluronic Gel (Filler) Is Used?We typically utilize a gel containing synthetic Hyaluronic Acid, which mimics the natural water-retaining substance produced by our bodies. The difference between this synthetic form and the body's own version lies in its chemical stabilization through linking molecules. Other fillers with higher viscosity are less suitable for correcting nasal shape, particularly permanent ones on the nasal ridge, as they either have an unsuitable consistency or are prone to rejection by the body. The gel-like consistency of Hyaluronic Acid allows for a visible, albeit limited lifting effect beneath taut nasal skin. In the event of need, hyaluronidase can dissolve the Hyaluronic Acid gel.
-
How Does a Nose Job Without Surgery Proceed? To begin the procedure, the nose will be locally numbed as required. The Hyaluronic Acid gel will then be accurately implanted beneath the skin to correct the specific needs of the nose. If a local anesthetic is administered, its effects may last for approximately an hour following the treatment. There is no need for downtime or recovery time, and you may resume your daily activities right away.
-
What Unwanted Side Effects Are Possible? It is likely that the treated area will experience swelling and redness after being treated with Hyaluronic Acid. After a nose correction, small hematomas may appear, but they are not comparable to the significant bleeding that may occur after a Rhinoplasty operation. These hematomas can be concealed with make-up and typically disappear within three days. While vigorous massaging may shift the position of the Hyaluronic Acid slightly, it should only be done by the treating physician. Prior to treatment, you will receive information on the potential side effects of any intervention that affects the integrity of the human body, including rare but possible effects on blood and nerve supply, as well as the wound itself. These risks are similar to those associated with the injection of premium-quality Hyaluronic Acid for wrinkle treatment. If you are unsatisfied with the results, Nose Fillers can be dissolved using an appropriate enzyme.
-
Is the Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty with Nose Filler Safe?Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in human tissue and doesn't cause rejection reactions. When working with this substance, we use small amounts and needles. Nevertheless, any invasive procedure carries some degree of risk, and the safety of a non-medically necessary treatment should be paramount. Even a relatively safe procedure should not be promoted as entirely risk-free. The injection of Hyaluronic Acid into tissue involves the implantation of a foreign substance, which has mechanical, osmotic, and growth-modulating effects.
-
Is a Nose Job Without Surgery Painful?By administering a local anesthetic to delicate areas, the procedure can be comfortably endured, although some mild discomfort may still be present. Patients may have differing levels of pain perception; for instance, those who underwent a nose correction using Hyaluronic Acid gel may experience temporary, slight discomfort. By employing basic pain medication, we aim to maximize your level of comfort.
-
What Common Concerns Can Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Correct?EDEN AESTHETICS Clinic Dubai offers a unique approach to nose correction through an innovative, minimally invasive technique. Our team of experts can help correct a variety of nose flaws, including reshaping the tip, reducing bumps, straightening the nose, minimizing scars, and recorrecting an upturned or wide nose tip. Whether you desire subtle changes or distinct ones, we can provide you with the best results. For instance, our doctors can use dermal fillers to enhance the shape of your nose tip by adding volume, improving symmetry, and achieving a more proportionate appearance. Additionally, we use hyaluronic acid fillers to reduce bumps, offset asymmetric angles, and create a straight line to give an optimal nose size. Our non-surgical rhinoplasty can also smooth out scars and reshape the nasal tip for a natural and elegant look.
-
How Much a Rhinoplasty Without Surgery in Dubai Cost?At EDEN AESTHETICS Clinic in Dubai, the cost of a 5-minute nose job, rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping is determined by the quantity of filler used, which is charged per unit. The clinic employs the finest, top-quality filler available. To obtain the precise expense for your nose correction, a complimentary consultation at EDEN AESTHETICS Clinic in Dubai is recommended.
-
When Can I See the Result?Although the nose may be slightly swollen immediately after the treatment, the results will be visible. However, it is only after the swelling subsides, the redness vanishes, and any small Hematomas disappear that a conclusive evaluation of the outcome can be made. This evaluation typically takes place after ten days.
-
Am I a Suitable Candidate for a Nose Correction Without Surgery? To achieve a successful course of therapy with Hyaluronic Acid treatment, it is essential to have realistic expectations and a clear comprehension of the limits associated with this cosmetic-aesthetic procedure, such as consistency, breakdown, and tissue response. If you're considering this treatment, we recommend a consultation where we can discuss these factors and inform you about other possible alternatives.
